Antonietta Collins

Antonietta Toni Gonzalez-Collins, a Mexican-American sportscaster. She is the host of SportsNation and serves as an anchor for SportsCenter anchor. In 2016, she was a part of ESPN. She is the daughter of the television reporter Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta has been bilingual since age nine. Her skill was instrumental in helping her get her first post as a production assistant for Univision Miami in which she assisted the production of numerous shows, including Nuestra Belleza Latina and Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud. Then, her CBS affiliate located in St. Petersburg employed her as a sport reporter. In 2009 she relocated to Texas into Rio Grande Valley where she began her news reporting at KNVO TV 48 Univision. She covered stories about illegal immigration as well as drug trafficking throughout Texas and Mexico. Also, she was a substitute for weather anchors, sports anchors and forecasters. Then she became the anchor and reporter for Univision Dallas' Deportes 23. She was then given larger responsibilities. She was a reporter for all of the Major League Baseball ALDS ALCS World Series and Dallas Cowboys, NBA postseason, Finals FC Dallas as well the Dallas Stars. She was the producer of Univision 23 Accion Deportiva Extra as anchor. She also served as the anchor for sports on Despierta America Deportes morning show. Also, she was a sports anchor on Primer Impacto, a magazine show on the UniMas Network and Contacto Deportivo. Antonietta Collins was born and raised in Veracruz, Mexico. The city of Mexico City she was conceived on November 22nd 1985. Also, she has an older sibling. She is the older sister. Her parents divorced within a short time and in the year 1995, she got married to a naval designer named Fabio Fajardo. Fabio Fajardo died in 2006 due to kidney cancer. The summer vacation that she stayed with her sibling at Canton Ohio where the older Collins girl had gotten the job. Antonietta was an incoming senior in high school however, she had a clear idea of her goals for the future. She went to Mount Union University in order to see if it was a good fit for her. It turned out that she was a fan of the campus and that the school provided the degree she was looking for. After finishing her high school education, she chose to enroll at the university and major in Media Studies. Mark Bergmann - her professor and managing director at WRMU (91.1 FM) in which she was a part of. Mark Bergmann inspired her to be self-confident and also his love for journalism deeply influenced her. She, was determined to live up to his expectations and never fail him.
